All Progressives Congress Youth Leaders in Ogun state, under the leadership of the state Youth Leader, Comrade Babatunde Aremu have congratulated Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on his victory in the party’s governorship primary.
The governor was declared the winner in all the 20 local government areas of the state in the primary that was held on Thursday, at Moshood Abiola Stadium, Kuto Abeokuta the state capital.
Aremu, in a statement on Friday signed by the Publicity Secretary of the group, Comrade Timothy Odedina, attributed Abiodun’s victory to his remarkable performance during his first term.
The group said, “Last Thursday, May 26, 2022, the All Progressives Congress state delegates across 236 wards in Ogun State rose in their numbers to exercise their democratic rights and voted the Prince Dapo Abiodun as the flag bearer of our great party the second time.
The delegates votes were massively out of 1170 accredited delegates , His excellence pulled a total of 1168 votes to give Governor Dapo Abiodun a clear mandate to contest a second term in office. Their decision was expressed in very unambiguous and unmistaken terms. For this overwhelming victory in the APC primary election, We, the Ogun state Youths wholeheartedly congratulate and rejoice with our leader, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Oracle of Ogun state politics.
“This resounding victory across the 236 wards in the state is an affirmation of the widely-acknowledged sterling performance of the governor in his first term. It is also an expression of the confidence our teeming party members in Ogun state have in his ability and capacity to propel the state to an even greater height in the second term.”
Aremu, thanked the leadership and members of National working committee of APC in Abuja for ensuring the success of the election.
He added, “We thank the leadership of the Ogun APC for ensuring the success of the primary election and for effectively mobilising delegates to participate fully in the electoral process. The party members also deserve praise for they not only conducted themselves in an orderly manner, but they also ensured their choice was expressed freely, fairly and unreservedly.
“This electoral victory is not only for governor Abiodun alone, but also for the APC and the Non APC members in Ogun state. They must all come together so that come 2023 governorship general election, the progressive ideals of the APC can continue to hold supreme in the state and Governor Abiodun can continue to deliver the dividends of democracy and good governance to our people.”
