The Wife of the Governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun says the present administration is committed to the overall health and wellbeing of the entire Ogun state.
Mrs. Abiodun stated this at the breast and cervical awareness campaign organised by her office and the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, Ogun state Chapter at the Primary Health Care Center, Ewekoro Local Government Council, Itori.
She stressed that early diagnosis remained the most effective way of treatment as Cancer according to her is no respecter of persons irrespective of age and status.
She advised women to place premium priority on their health by ensuring healthy lifestyle and taking the advantage of the free screening and treatment provided adding that regular personal breast checks must be done by the women as a way of helping to detect the disease early.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Head of Local Government Administration in Ewekoro Local Government, Mr. James Elemide appreciated and commended the present administration for the mapped out development projects and programmes that were being executed accordingly.
He encouraged women to heed the advice of early screening for cancer noting that research had shown that early detection and treatment remained the cure.
In his goodwill message, the Olu of Itori Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Oba Fatai Akorede Akamo, appreciated the First Lady for her concern for the women folk and particularly commended her for her presence at the Local Government.
Oba Akamo requested the Governor Abiodun led administration to upgrade and equip the Primary Health Center of the area for improved health of the people of the community promising his support for the administration.
